This project served the City of Medford by more than doubling their capacity to handle the secondary waste water process. The job consisted of demolition and re-installation of mechanisms on (5) 90’ clarifiers, installation of (5) new Vertical Turbine Pumps including excavation and installation of 30’ pump cans to house the Vertical Turbine Pumps. Slayden also constructed a new CMU chemical storage building which houses two new WAS pumps, installed approximately 1200’ of 16” – 36” RAS piping, installation of (5) 24”-36” Sluice Gates, and installation of new Mixed Liquor Channel air diffuser piping. The project spanned over two construction seasons and careful coordination was used to ensure that the clarifier installation was sequenced to not adversely affect the plant processes. The electrical scope included the installation of a new MCC and approximately 800’ of duct bank to feed the pumps and clarifier drive units.
