This project was an existing site of an out dated fish collection facility used to trap and haul Endangered Species Act listed fish around Detroit and Big Cliff dams on the right bank of the North Santiam River near Gates, OR. This high-profile project between State Hwy 22 and the North Santiam River required close coordination and constant communication of work plans with multiple regulatory agencies including: NOAA, NMFS, USACE, ODFW, DEQ, ODSL, and ODOT. New facilities required significant excavation and concrete placement below the river level that required an extensive cofferdam system and diversion channel to isolate the entire right riverbank from North Santiam River. In-water-work also included concurrent repairs to the adjacent barrier dam.
